Cooties
Related to childlore in the United States of America and Canada, cooties are a kind of infectious disease. It is also a term used for body lice and for a wooden container used for food or drink. A child is said to "catch" cooties through any form of bodily contact, proximity, or touching of an "infected" person or from a person of the opposite sex of the same age.
