FREEMARKET

Free market

A free market is a market economy in which the forces of supply and demand are not controlled by a government or other authority. A free market contrasts with a controlled market or regulated market, in which government policy intervenes by controlling who is allowed to enter the market or by setting prices. Although free markets are commonly associated with capitalism in contemporary usage and popular culture, free markets have been also advocated by market socialists, cooperative members and advocates of profit sharing.
