Harvard Yard

Harvard Yard is a grassy area of enclosed by fences with 27 gates, the oldest part of the Harvard University campus and its historic center and modern crossroads. Harvard Yard used to be the Cowyard Row. Most of the construction was based upon a plan drawn by New York architect Charles F. McKim. The first yard was an acre and an eighth and it expanded little by little until 1835.
