AIRDROP

AirDrop

AirDrop is an ad-hoc service in Apple's OS X and iOS operating systems, introduced in Mac OS X Lion and iOS 7. Using AirDrop, users can share files with other supported Mac computers and iOS mobile devices without the need of mass storage devices. OS X and iOS use different AirDrop protocols and are currently not interoperable. AirDrop in OS X operates over Wi-Fi, whereas the iOS implementation utilizes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
