Bonus puzzle: Chow Fun (dropquote/floatquote)

Posted on September 17, 2023 By Alex Boisvert

Man, it’s hard to find ironclad proof someone actually said something unless there is a YouTube video of them saying it. These two quotes sound like they’re from who they’re supposedly from, but we’ll have to make a little leap of faith.

Oh, right, what is this? It’s a dropquote/floatquote, a puzzle type invented by Francis Heaney for his Book “Brain Games for Word Nerds.” Here’s how it works:

This puzzle has two quotations, and letters can drop down from above or float up from below. Letters at the top will drop down into the upper grid, and letters at the bottom will float up into the lower grid. Letters in the middle may go up or down; you must figure out which are which.

More good news – you can now solve this and all the other bonus puzzles on the site just like every other puzzle! Head over to https://acrostics.crosswordnexus.com/bonus to get solving.

Enjoy!
