Coded acrostic? What the heck is such a thing? Well, here’s how it works:
In this puzzle, the numbers 1 through 26 each stand for a different letter of the alphabet, and instances of a given number stand for the same letter throughout the entire grid. The upper grid is a quote reading from left to right, with black squares representing word endings. The bottom grid is there for you to keep track of which letter corresponds to which number. Numbers 1-10 spell out the author of the quote.
… okay, you caught me, this puzzle is basically a cryptogram. In this particular case, it’s like a kaidoku because all letters A-Z are in the quote, and it’s like an acrostic in that the author’s name is spelled out. You can call it what you want; I’m going with coded acrostic. Hope you like it!
