If you’re on this site, you probably know about our puz to pdf page. It’s simple and it works but customization options are limited unless you feel like futzing with a JSON string. A much slicker interface is available at njyoon.github.io, which makes very pretty PDFs but can only handle puz files. Maybe we could have the best of both worlds?
I’ve made the modifications for Nam-Joon to change his code to accept these other file types, but until then you can use this website: https://puz2pdf.alexboisvert.com/. It should behave exactly like the GitHub website, but it will instead accept non-.puz file types. Specifically, you can now make PDFs with bars, background colors, shaded cells, etc. You can always use the puz-to-pdf functionality on Crossword Nexus for that as well, but people like Nam-Jin’s PDF layouts, so if that’s what you’re used to, you have options now.
Enjoy! And if you find any bugs or have feature suggestions, please let us know.
