I’ve had a few people tell me they’d like to see more data around the Wisdom of Salomon website. As a data nerd myself I can’t believe I didn’t think of doing it earlier! So here goes. All data is current as of December 2022.
The Graph
Let’s start with the entire graph, if you want to look at that. It’s real big so it might slow down things a bit in your browser, but it’s mesmerizing. Our data is stored with constructors represented as numbers, so it’s not immediately clear who is who. But you will notice some nodes that are more connected than others. See if you can guess who they are! (Answers below.)
Most Collaborations
Who’s had the most collaborations? Here’s everyone with over 100 collaborations, along with the number of collabs they’ve had.
- Emily Cox, Henry Rathvon (tie) 432
- Bruce Venzke 323
- Nancy Salomon 249
- Jeff Chen 206
- Lou Sabin 199
- Fran Sabin 198
- Stella Zawistowski 186
- Zhouqin Burnikel 184
- Gail Grabowski 138
- Brooke Husic 107
At the top of the list, no surprise, the greatest of all collaborations, Cox and Rathvon. 432 collabs in the data set, all with each other! Bruce is the only one that comes close, in large part thanks to his 126 (!) collabs with Gail Grabowski and his 182 (!!) with Stella Zawistowski.
Most Collaborators
The people at the top of the previous list are highly driven by a large number of collabs with a small number of people. Who has had the most unique collaborators? Here’s everyone with over 30 (I’m including their ID so you can look for them in the graph.)
- Jeff Chen (ID 22) 89
- Nancy Salomon (ID 34) 56
- Brooke Husic (ID 133) 46
- Erik Agard (ID 20) 43
- Andrea Carla Michaels (ID 83) 35
- Brendan Emmett Quigley (ID 5) 32
Longest Chain
There are a few chains of link 10, but I’m going to link to this one because one of the endpoints is Weird Al Yankovic.
Most Influential Collaborator
Here’s the big question, and not an easy one to answer, as there are many definitions of “centrality” of a graph. What do you think we should use? Maybe something not even on this list? Hit us up, and we’ll do an update at a later point in time.
