A while back we introduced our “Qat-lite” tool called Umiaq. It worked … okay back then but (a) it was slow (b) it didn’t have a bunch of functionality and (c) it was in Python, which is a barrier to entry for some people. Still, we thought it had promise because it allowed you to use your own word list, as opposed to using one of Qat’s built-in lists.
Well, today we’re fixing a bunch of those problems. Here’s our brand-new web interface for Umiaq, which runs faster than before, with more functionality. Is it lightning fast? No. Does it have all of Qat’s functionality? No. But it’s most of the way there, and we think it will get even better with the community involved.
Try it out, let us know what you think, and happy puzzling!
