PUZZLE LINKS: Online Solver
Today we’re proud to present a Jelly Roll puzzle, a puzzle type invented by Eric Berlin. To my knowledge, he’s the only person to have created a puzzle of this type up until now, but he gave me the go-ahead to run this one. If you’d like to make one of these puzzles, we’ve created an online interface to assist in their construction — you can find it here.
How does it work?
Three paths curl toward the center of this jelly roll – a white path, a gray path, and a “jelly roll” path that uses all the letters of the other two (winding back and forth as indicated by the heavy bars). Answer words proceed one after the other. Word lengths are given for the answers in the white and gray paths. It’s up to you to determine where the jelly roll answers begin and end.
Jeff’s kotwords tools do include a converter for making JPZs of this puzzle type, but I think I prefer the pretty swirling grid of the original presentation, so we’re presenting this puzzle on the variety solver. If you don’t like the online interface, you can print out a PDF from the online solver. Either way, hope you like it!
